A few months ago, I roped my brother into using and reviewing an AussieShave.com shaving stuff. When I was invited to try out the Dollar Shave Club (Australia) 4X blades, I could think of no-one better to give it a try than my brother again.
Just as a reminder, he has thick facial hair and his 5 O'clock shadow starts to show at about 9am- if he's lucky. He normally uses a Gillette Blue 3 disposable razor and Rapid Shave shaving crème.
I got his review from two time periods, after using the first blade and then after using all 4 cartridges (the end of the month's supply. So, what were his thoughts after the first month?

Just used the Razors you sent down. I had about four days of growth so it was pretty wild. I shaved down "with the grain" first, and then upwards- all with the same blade. Nice, smooth shave! No drag on the skin; excellent!
The only negative would be where the blade connects to the handle. It is a bit flimsy and took me a couple of goes to get it together.

So, after using the blades for a couple of weeks, what are your thoughts?
Look, I think it's really good but the only problem I kept having was getting the blade onto the handle. The shave is great but you have be a genius to get the blade on. I don't have that problem with the Gillette!
I have to agree. While the earlier review of my Twin Blade experience was glowing, I also found connecting the blade to the handle required...extra dexterity :-) Interesting, I did not have problems with the Executive Blades (that I have previously used) but the Twin and 4X blades are a bit more fiddly.

So, it seems the conclusion is that the Dollar Shave Club (Australia) 4X is a great blade and gives a great shave. And that is what it is all about!
