What is all this razor and shaving blog all about?

Ever since the viral Dollarsaverclub video exploded onto our YouTube screens, I have been a bit fascinated by the concept of buying my razors online by subscription. I have usually shaved until my blade resembled a river stone, blunt and ineffective. Therefore, the concept of someone posting new razors to me every monthly would mean I would have to change my blades more often. This seemed like an attractive (and a bit of a lazy) idea.

It was only when Dollarshaverclub was launched in Australia that I became a little more proactive. I didn't want to simply throw my money at an American company without trying out a couple of other local options. So, this lead me to sending my first email to Aussieshave and then taking my great leap into being supplied with razors every month.

The purpose of this blog is to report on my experiences with the different companies and the shave experience of their products. Over the coming months, I will rotate through a number of the companies so I can provide a breath of experiences, not just a continued reporting about one product. The companies I have identified that offer the monthly service are:
  • Aussieshave
  • Dollarshaverclub and
  • Blade-Runners.
There are others and I’ll add these to the front page listing as I find them. Please let me know about any others out there (Australian or otherwise). I aim to try out as many as possible.

  1. Thanks for your Blog about Shaving.

I recently found a business called www.aussieshave.com (Aussie Shave) that allows you to make low price subscriptions so that cheap high quality razor's will arrive to your door step each month so you don't have to worry about buying them! It's something that annoys me, I figured you might be interested since this is a shaving blog :)

    1. Hi Michael. Thanks for your comment and suggestion. I was pleased to have www.aussieshave.com as the first company I tried out. I will (at some stage) publish my brother's comments about the www.aussieshave.com experience as well. Always nice to have a couple of different perspectives! Cheers!
